Byd Term Cymru
Do you teach a subject which has technical terms and can’t find the right Welsh word?
Welsh Government has developed an online database to help you.
Go on the Byd Term Cymru website to find out more.

Microsoft Bing Translator
Do you want to translate some work? Or would you like to chat with someone in Welsh who’s fluent in the language? Microsoft Bing Translator on-line can help. Welsh Government supports this translation tool too.
Give Bing Translator a go.
Please note that Bing Translator will not translate to the same standard as a real-life translator. It is a guideline only and it could include mistakes as it’s automatically machine-generated.

Further Education Tutor Support Toolkit
The aim of the resources is to give tutors confidence in the way activity completed in Welsh or bilingually is recorded on the LLWR, and to help them find out where their provision is at the moment. They are also designed to give tutors practical advice on how to move their teaching up the bilingualism continuum. The package includes: A handbook - a working document that can be used to refer to, as well as to establish specific personal targets for increasing the Welsh/bilingual provision.

Cysgeir
If you need to find a word quickly and you’re not sure how to spell it, use Cysgeir, a resource you can download for free.
You can see how it works by watching this handy video on the external Bangor University website.

There are more video tutorials on the Bangor University website that show other handy features that Cysgeir and Cysill offer too.

Geiriadur yr Academi
There are a number of dictionaries available to all, whatever the level of your Welsh.
Geiriadur yr Academi is available on-line and as a book. It offers Welsh translations only for English words.
Geiriadur yr Academi doesn’t provide Welsh to English translations. The Geiriadur Bangor online dictionary can help with this.

Gwerddon
Gwerddon is a Welsh-medium open access academic e-journal which publishes research in a wide range of academic subjects.
Watch our video guide to learn more about how to use it.

Y Termiadur Addysg
Do you write assessments and exams? Or do you create notes for subjects that are externally assessed?
Welsh Government has provided a useful website which provides standard terminology for use in education.

Coleg Cymraeg Terms website
The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol provides an online dictionary for students and staff to facilitate the process of studying, teaching and researching through the medium of Welsh at university level. The dictionary contains technical terms from a wide range of academic fields, including Biology, Chemistry, Sport, Law, Geography, History, Business, Psychology, Woodland Management, the Creative Industries and Mathematics and Physics. It is constantly expanded to include more terms and more subject areas, and it is indicated which area each term belongs to. These terms are accompanied by definitions, sometimes including diagrams, equations and pictures to better explain the term. In the definitions, there are links to other related terms

To Bach
Welsh is completely different to English. Many of the letters require a circumflex or an accent. Inserting these manually can be time consuming. The ‘To Bach’ software will help you to write correctly in Welsh by making it easier to insert a circumflex or accent.

Esboniadur
Esboniadur, (which means ‘Explainer’ in English), is an open, multi-discipline on-line resource, created by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. You can find it on the Coleg’s website, ‘Porth’.
Here you will find collections of reference information on a variety of different subjects.
The entries it contains are repositories of standard information, that have been created by lecturers or post-graduates of the College to facilitate students’ research.
Now give it a go on the Coleg Cymraeg website.

Y Porth
The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Resource Portal (porth.ac.uk) is an online library for digital Welsh and bilingual teaching resources for the further education and apprenticeships and higher education sectors. Here you can find all the resources that have been developed by the Coleg Cymraeg. It also includes links to resources from the organizations we collaborate with e.g. further education colleges, universities and the Welsh Government. The Porth contains a wide variety of resources, such as presentations, videos, short courses and recordings of webinars and conferences. Its aim is to share resources that can be used by teachers and lecturers to support collective learning. The resources are also able to support school pupils, learners in colleges, apprentices and university students to continue their studies through the medium of Welsh or bilingually.
