Change the language of subtitles in YouTube

Do you use YouTube whilst learning or teaching? If the video owner has provided Welsh subtitles on YouTube, it’s easy to find them.

Go to the settings symbol at the bottom of the screen and select ‘Subtitles/CC’. If Welsh subtitles have been provided, you’ll be able to change the subtitle language to ‘Cymraeg’.

It is possible to have Welsh subtitles that have been automatically generated on videos in other languages too. In the same way as Microsoft Bing, the translation is not always perfect but it can help to Welshify the learner's experience when showing an English video.
